I've studied greatness for some years now. I'm fascinated by what it takes to for someone to move from a fantastic singer, artist, writer, futurist, CEO, etc. into an iconic wonder that leaves an indelible mark on the world. What is it that makes the greats great?
1. They leave a ding in the universe -- always up to something greater than a normal life would offer.
2. They're rebels -- pushing boundaries, breaking rules, taking us where no one gone before.

3. They seem to want to supercede our existing view of what it is to be human. There's a furious drive in them to go beyond, go beyond and go beyond again to brave whole new worlds of possibility for us all.
4. They get lost in the expression of their genius. The music captures them and powers the song. The words flow effortlessly from their pens as universal genius floods through them. The ideas pour from them like waterfalls of possibilities, never satisfied with the way things are.
5. They're willing to live on the edge, daring the NEW, undaunted by what others think of them. There's a fierce desire in them to express that fire that burns inside them and nothing shall keep them from that game, nor influence them to do it 'the way it's supposed to be done'.
6. They live life full on, always true to their genius. I don't think compromise is in their nature as that seems like a betrayal of their calling.

But more than anything, their greatness is personified in how they reach deep, deep inside us and call out something we've probably always been longing for. They touch that place in us where a homing beacon is always buzzing, where a rush of genius is itching to burst through, where life is so breathtaking and extraordinary that we can hardly bear its wonder. These are the infinites, iconic geniuses come to reshape us all into something we have been waiting a very long time to become. Here's to the great ones, reshaping Life for us all.
