My mother is about to depart the planet. My one brother, Geoff (on the right), for the last six months has spent 2 hours a day with her, taking care of her every need, being her friend and companion, keeping my other brother and I completely informed as to how she's doing. He is a saint, no doubt about it. My other brother Tony (on the left), is home right now to be with them both for her last hours. This is what he wrote this morning in tribute ...
"I am lying in a bed of my hometown house, likely for the last time. A house that I was born and raised in, and over the last 35 years have visited many times each year, as my mother has never moved from her four wall sanctuary. Until recently. She was diagnosed with stomach cancer last November. Had a surgery an then a few rounds of radiation to help with the growing disease. She is 87 years old, and now not coping with the ailment. She lived a wonderful life raising 3 children. My brother and my sister are the two most amazing people I have known in my lifetime. And credit is due to my Mom and my Dad, who passed away at the age of 54, when I was 22. A great, well respected Man he was. I am blessed with being born into this family. And now my Mother, lays in her bed in a nursing home, trying to catch her last few breaths of life. She deserves to go with grace and dignity, as she has lived her entire life. Mom, I wish you peace. I love you much. And will miss you dearly. My father waits in heaven for you. Please give him a hug for me."
On this very same morning as I read Tony's message with tears of love streaming down my face, I also read on Facebook a post that my wonderful husband Santari wrote last night. Gosh, how privileged am I to sleep beside this being every night!
"Thought this extract from a book that I'm writing deserved some light of day right now ...
The visions come more frequently now. I attune to the vibrations of the energy that comes to me, flooding me with a sense of these visions. I align myself to all that wishes to be done … because of me … because I am here … ready … and waiting. I do not seek to hold or contain the immensity of the visions – I seek only to see my part in this great work.
I am always on the verge of a vast abyss of the unknown, but the energy gives me wings to soar above and over it, sometimes traversing the winding corridors of unknown possibilities, and then plunging deep down, scarily plummeting to faint lights in the icy darkness where a glimpse of an unnamed world is ready to give birth … to give birth to a bright light of a future that I may never see.
I touch these lights briefly, for the presence that travels within me will ignite these worlds with fiery flames of consciousness, and all forms will be charged with the energy force. These forms will call it by many names, though most will just say “LIFE”.
I bring LIFE. I am the Life Bringer, Life Dancer, Life Singer.
My Self wants to see itself in one of these visions, so I allow it. Opening a space in the fold of possibilities where a group of children are gathered in a circle listening to a story. I am telling the story. I, the Power of Life, tell a story. I look around at the upturned faces, noting their radiance, sensing the sparkles in the air as I speak. I speak about Power and Beauty. I speak to their eagerness to shine and radiate that Power and that Beauty. I let the words of my speaking create trails of Light in the air so that the air shimmers and dances. The children laugh at this for they too can make Light take form through their words.
Each word is a perfect vibration. The air hums with my story. Now they sit in silence, mesmerised by what they can see emerging with every breath that we take – for we breathe together as One."
